Peaceful Lake Richmond is just around the corner, with the Naragebup Environment Centre opposite.
Penguin Island is just around the other corner, 700 metres off shore. You can see the colony of fairy penguins there between March and December and the Australian sea lions anytime if you’re lucky.
Point Peron offers great walking opportunities with breathtaking views of the rugged limestone coast, historic bunkers left over from the Second World War and it’s a terrific place for dolphin spotting.
At Old Rockingham Beach you will find a selection of cafes and restaurants to choose from for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
For a spot of golf try the Rockingham Golf Driving Range or the Secret Harbour Golf Links, designed by the renowned golf architect and player Graham Marsh.
Rockingham City Shopping Centre, is open seven days a week during the school holidays. Offering an endless array of popular stores, as well as a new cinema complex, it’s the place to head for serious retail therapy.
Or just a couple of minutes walk from the Beach House you have the convenience of the Shoalwater Shopping Centre's specialty stores including a supermarket which is open seven days, a fish and chip shop, pizza takeaway, café, the George and the Dragon Hotel and bottle shop, bakery, chemist, newsagent, South African gourmet, beautician, Mt Trimm’s barber, hairdresser, neighborhood bank, ATM and a Red Cross Op Shop.

There are bus services linking Shoalwater with the local area and providing access to buses to Fremantle and fast trains to Perth and Mandurah.
